Program Overview

NovelTech Academy’s Full-Stack Engineering program trains students to build complete web applications. It starts with frontend fundamentals like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, then moves to React.js for modern interfaces and Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB for server-side programming. Students graduate with real-world projects across the MERN stack and the skills employers seek.

This hands-on, project-driven program includes practical assignments that mirror daily professional work. By the end of the six-month journey, students have a portfolio of deployed web applications, experience with version control and team collaboration, and the confidence to take on junior to mid-level full-stack roles in Nigeria or internationally.

The curriculum progresses through 11 modules spanning the full web development stack. Each module builds directly on the previous one, starting with the visual layer (HTML, CSS, Bootstrap), moving through client-side programming (JavaScript, React, TypeScript), and culminating in backend development, database management, and production deployment. Practical projects and assignments run throughout every stage.

Build the structural foundation of every web page, from basic elements and forms to responsive layouts and embedded media.

Control the visual presentation of web content, including layout systems, animations, transitions, and responsive design techniques.

Speed up frontend development with Bootstrap’s grid system and pre-built UI components for rapid prototyping.

Master the programming language of the web, covering data types, control flow, functions, asynchronous operations, DOM manipulation, and API consumption.

Build modern, interactive user interfaces with React’s component architecture, hooks, state management, routing, and production deployment.

Add type safety to JavaScript projects, improving code reliability, readability, and maintainability across the stack.

Transition to server-side development, understanding how JavaScript runs outside the browser and how to build backend services.

Learn NoSQL database fundamentals, data modeling, and CRUD operations using MongoDB and the Mongoose ODM.

Participants will need a laptop equipped with at least 4GB of RAM, though 8GB is recommended for optimal performance. A functional keyboard and screen are essential, along with a stable internet connection to facilitate online sessions and project work.

The course requires the use of VS Code, Node.js, Git, and a modern web browser such as Google Chrome. All these tools are available for free download. Instructors will provide guidance on installing these programs during the initial session.
